GTX 1080 TI Benchmarks & Latest Nvidia Drivers Performance Boost

The GTX 1080 TI is here and it’s dam impressive!

The GTX 1080 TI is here and GTX 1080 and 1070 series cards have dropped! It’s never been a better time to buy as far as performance / dollar ratio goes and our friends over at TechPowerUp.com have done the tedious yet important job of bench-marking this new beast.

You’ll notice the Titan X Pascal in the benchmarks below which comes very close performance wise to the TI but remember, that’s card is almost double the price and was never official distributed in Australia.

First in to the ring is Battlefield 1, Ultra Settings @ 4K resolution (3840×2160).

Next up, again at highest possible settings and 4K resolution is GTA V.

And last but not least, Watch Dogs 2, highest settings and 4k resolution.

Intel Kaby Lake 7000 series CPUs Benchmarked

Everyone Gamers waiting for the next gen Kaby Lake series CPUs might be a little disappointed today as reviews and benchmarks surface from major news outlets.

Techpowerup has done a very thorough test of the flagship 7700K against the current gen Skylake 6700K with a large number of popular games and the results are fairly unanimous.  The good news is, if you have a Skylake CPU (or even a Ivy Bridge / Haswell CPU) there’s no reason to upgrade. The bad news, if you’ve been dying to upgrade  your PC and just holding out for the next big generational performance boost, this isn’t it.

Coming R9 300 unconfirmed leaks suggest new card much faster than GTX980

Screenshots posted on popular Chinese hardware forum ChipHell has shown a 3dMark 11 X score of X8121 reportedly achieved with a single R9 3 series card paired with a i7 4790K @ 4.0GHz.

Compare this to the results of a GTX 980 in the same test with the same CPU and the results are around X6850. That means if the leaked benchmarks are to believed, a 15% + performance difference.
