Our first shipment of the eagerly awaited Gigabyte GTX 980’s arrived early ahead of Fridays launch and and much to our dismay, there was no driver CD in the box. In its place was a sticker asking us to visit Nvidia’s website to download the drivers, where the drivers have yet to be released.
So instead of bringing you benchmarks, we will have to settle for some photos instead.
Update : This card is now available to select across our range of Nvidia powered custom gaming desktop PCs and to purchase separately here.
Here we can see the GTX980 on has 2x 6 pin power connectors where the GTX 780 and 780 TI both required 2x 8 pin.
1x DualLink DVI-I / 1x HDMI and 3x DisplayPort connectors replace the GTX 780’s 1x DVI-D / 1x DVI-I / 1x HDMI and 1x Display Port.
The Nvidia reference cooler is pretty much identical to the early reference coolers on the GTX 780.
This card will available to pre-order on our website this afternoon with the first units shipping this Friday. Once the drivers are freely available (hopefully also Friday) this and any other GTX980’s we can get our hands on will be added to our custom PC options.
Benchmarks are now live, along with the GTX 970 G1 factory overclocked N970G1 Gaming-4GD also from Gigabyte. Check them out here.
