Lords of the Fallen on PC Shows Off Nvidia GameWorks Technology

In a two minute youtube video posted on Nvidia’s official account page, the upcoming PC title ‘Lords of the Fallen’ shows off GameWorks, the proprietary visual effects suite provided to the developer by Nvidia.

Heralded as ‘Dark Souls taken to the next level’ by game-debate.com, Lords of the Fallen is a action RPG coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Volumetric lighting,  turbulence, particle and cloth effects have all been built upon the GameWorks infrastructure and look impressive even in this compressed youtube video. (more…)

GTA V gets next gen exclusive content for PC release.

Rockstar has announced a slew of added content for the upcoming PC release of Grand Theft Auto V including side missions, weapons, vehicles, races and challenges. There will be a hatchet melee weapon along side sci-fi style rail gun, new monster trucks, planes and blimps and a murder mystery side mission for Michael. PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game land November 18th while PC players will have to wait until January 27th to get their hands on a copy. The good news is, unlike GTA4 on PC, there should be no Games For Windows Live integration (fingers crossed)!

Checkout some of the screenshots below provided by Rockstar for a better idea of what to look forward to. (more…)

Battlefield Hardline for PC gets a release date.

Today EA announced it’s next installment in the Battlefield franchise will hit stores March 17th in the US and March 19th in Europe (and probably Australia). The game was originally scheduled for release this year but was delayed shortly after it’s limited beta release, likely to implement feedback and improvements (we hope).

Hardline is slated for release on both current and last gen consoles along with PC and has a twist on the traditional battlefield gameplay, this time focusing not on war but PayDay style heists with cops and robbers taking the place of nations armies. (more…)

DeepCool Steam Castle Cases Now Shipping!

The latest offering from a brand that doesn’t usually have a big presence in Australia has PC enthusiasts on the fence. The aggressive and ‘different’ steampunk design of the Steam Castle from Deepcool makes it one of those ‘love it or hate it’ products without much room in between. Personally we are a big fan as it is essentially a Bitfenix prodigy mATX chassis on the inside but adds a fan controller, programmable LED lighting and a little more ventilation.

Available in white, black, red and yellow the Steam Castle case is quiet, relatively cool for a small form factor chassis and will definitely stand out when placed next to your average gaming rig.

Assasins Creed Unity System Requirements, Higher Than You Might Expect.

Yesterday, blog.ubi.com posted the official PC system requirements for Assassin’s Creed Unity only for the internet to explode in discussion about just how dam high they are.

Will Assassins Creed Unity on PC actually make use of the recommended i7 CPU and GTX 780 video card or is just a poor port that suffers out of the box from performance issues? We hope its the former but only time will tell. (more…)
