GTX 1080 Graphics Card Announcement from Nvidia

Nvidia’s long anticipated next generation Pascal GPU is set to hit stores in the form of the GTX 1080 within a month or two boasting 8GB of 10Gbps GDDR5X, 2560 CUDA cores and a new, much bolder stock cooler.

Claims of 2x-3x the performance in VR gaming with 1.5x + the performance in regular DX12 games over it’s GTX 980 predecessor line the Nvidia announcement page. Checkout the announcement trailer below for a quick run down of the headline features.

Until we have a better idea of pricing and get our hands on one of these ourselves to truly test Nvidia’s claims we can’t say whether it’s best to wait a month or two for a GTX 1080 powered custom PC or just build one today with the current 900 series. That being said, expect launch prices to well above that of the GTX 980 and stock shortages for a few weeks come launch day.

If past experience is anything to go by, expect GTX 1080 TI’s, 1070’s and 1060’s to replace the rest of the 900 series slowly over the rest of the year with the full line up in place by Christmas. But if you want don’t want to wait and are itching to get your game on sooner, the very formidable Maxwell powered 900 series is still a great choice and available right now at over at out custom gaming PC page.

Stay tuned to Evatech for details (price, release date, stock availability etc) as we creep closer to launch!

Our Newest Customisable PCs; Xeon & Quadro Powered Worksations

Like with most of our changes recently, this comes after weeks upon months of customers contacting us for custom PC solutions to their personal and/or business needs. Lately, we’ve got a large amount of requests from people who want Xeon CPUs, and also Quadro graphics cards. It took our web team and technicians a couple of days to flesh out the details and come up with two highly polished “Workstation” PC options for customers to customise on our website, as our customers have come to expect from us.

    • Munich – Lite Xeon Quadro Workstation PC

      • Based on Intel’s LGA 1151 socket set, the Munich offers quad-core CPUs and up to 2 threads per core, ranging from 3GHz up to 4GHz. When it comes to RAM options, you can get up to 32GB of DDR4. The comprehensive range of Quadro graphics cards offered will be enough to suit any and all needs.
    • Zurich – Pro Xeon Quadro Workstation PC

      • Intel’s LGA 2011-3 socket set means our Zurich offers up to 8 CPU cores, with 2 threads per core, ranging from 3.5GHz to 3.8GHz per core. Thanks to Intel’s X99 motherboards supporting 8 DIMMs of RAM, we can have up to a staggering 128GB of DDR4 memory. Once again, our range of Quadro graphics cards will fit everyone’s requirements, and we also offer multi-GPU or SLI configurations for cards that support it.

The use-cases for such systems are plentiful if our customers’ requests are anything to go by. Either of the above PCs, customised to suit, would work well for the following (but is by no means limited to):

    • 3D Animation
    • 3D Printing
    • Adobe After Effects
    • Amber Molecular Dynamics
    • Applied Physics Modelling
    • Architectual Design
    • Autodesk 3DS MAX
    • Autodesk AutoCAD
    • Autodesk Maya
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Chief Architect
    • CryENGINE by Crytek
    • Geological Surveying
    • Graphisoft ArchiCad
    • Many other game engines
    • MATLAB
    • Petrel Geology & Modeling
    • Solidworks
    • Unreal 4
    • Vectorworks Architect
    • VisSim

As with just about anything else technology related, the most amount of money you can afford to spend will yield the best results in terms of the least amount of time required to render your projects, or least amount of time required for calculations to be made.

All our PCs are customisable, so you can have as much or as little performance as you need without having to jump to a completely different set of hardware like some other PC retailers would have you do when buying “pre-built” or “pre-configured” systems. Want a better CPU, sure! More RAM, done! Different storage configurations, easy! Water-cooled CPU, no worries! WiFi adapter, on-site warranty, operating system, SSD/HDD, up to 1000W power supplies, case options… All at the click of your mouse with live PC price updates so you’re not left guessing or needing to contact us for a quote.

We also offer options to get the PC to you quicker. Our standard turnaround time for a custom PC build is 5-10 business days* until a PC can be dispatched (available for customer collection or courier collection), but “Jump the Queue” sees that time come to under 72 hours*, and “Need it NOW!” drops it down to 48 hours*.

Of course, if you do find yourself with questions, you can contact us with your requests or concerns and our friendly support staff will be glad to help you find a solution.

    * Once payment clears and stock allows (note “Special Order” or “Pre-order” items) and excludes weekends/public holidays.
