PC game series don’t get much bigger than Battlefield with some of the highest online player counts and longest lasting communities of any online shooter, consistently, since the release of the Battlefield 1942 in 2002.

Battlefield 1 is the first of the the series to be during WW1, with the same massive environment, high player count, class based shooter mechanics the series has built it’s name on, swapping out it’s sub machine guns and attack helicopters for bayonet charges, mustard gas and biplanes.

Honorable mentions,

Forza Horizon 3 lands September 27 for racing fans, set in an open world rendition of Australia and featuring as many as 350 different vehicles and 12 player free roam multiplayer.

Gears of War 4 drops on October 11 (Windows 10 Exclusive). As long as it’s a decent port, it’s sure to a winner for fans of the franchise.

Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, aka COD in space is set for release on November 4th, with zero-G lasers and grappling guns as Call of Duty’s answer to Battlefield’s step back to the 1910’s.

Dishonored 2, (November 11th) a sequel to the critically acclaimed first release back in 2012 drops the old hero Corvo along with the new female playable character Emily in a whole new city, this time loosely modeled after Spain and the south of France.

Watch Dogs 2, (November 15th). The original had soo much promise but fell short in a lot of ways, with middling reviews across the board. Lets hope Ubisoft can build upon what made the original unique while ironing out the bugs and addressing criticisms of the first game at the same time.
