How an Evatech Lay-by works.

It's simple. For any order containing a custom or pre-built PC you'll see a 'Lay-by' option at checkout. Select this option, pay a third to secure in the order, then the balance within 30 days. Once the final payment has been received, your order will be dispatched or made available for collection.

You can pay off the balance in number of payments as long as each payment (not including the final payment if the balance is less) is a minimum of $100. As Lay-by is not a form of credit or finance, there are no eligibility requirements or application and approval process. Please bear in mind however, the order is held for you yet will only be dispatched or made available for collection once the final payment is received.
 

How payments work

For Lay-by orders placed online payments are accepted by direct deposit. Payment instructions are provided upon checkout both on screen and by email. The initial deposit should be made immediately upon placing the order as it can take 24 hours for payments to clear and lay-by orders without deposits are cancelled after 48 hours.

For Lay-by orders placed in store the deposit can be made by EFTPOS or cash. Follow up payments can be also made in store via the same methods, or by direct deposit.

After each payment is received, you'll receive an automated email confirmation with an updated balance.
 

When will I receive my order?

Lay-by is not a form of credit or finance. Goods will only be released upon receipt of the final payment. For pre-built PC options, orders will be ready for collection or dispatch within 1-2 business days of final payment. For custom built to order PCs, an additional 3-5 business days is typical for assembly, setup and our extensive burn in testing and QA process to be completed.
 

Cancellations & expirations

You can request an order cancellation at any time however cancellation fee may apply. Expired orders (not fully paid off within the 30 day period) are automatically cancelled.

• Prior to paying a deposit : No fee
• After deposit : $100 fee
• After 30 days (expired orders): $150 fee

• Prior to paying a deposit : No fee
• Within the first 14 days : $100 fee
• 15th to 30th day : $200 fee
• After 30 days (expired orders): $300 fee

For orders containing a Pre-built PC, fees are applied per PC, not per order. If multiple Pre-built PCs are ordered at once in the same lay-by, the cancellation fee will be multiplied accordingly. Custom PC order cancellation fees are only applied per order. These fees offset the overhead of admin processing costs and the cost of reserving the stock that may have otherwise sold to another customer in the meantime. With PC hardware, prices can be highly volatile and prices trend downward over time as newer hardware comes to market on a regular basis. Custom PCs orders are only assembled upon receipt of the final payment and thus the fee schedule is lower.

Order cancellations must be requested by email. Refunds of the balance minus applicable fees may take up to 3 business days to be processed. To mitigate fraud attempts, only the person who placed the original order may request the refund. Refunds will be made by direct deposit and the bank account to which the refund is made must match that of the account that made the original deposit. Proof of this original deposit payment will be requested.

FAQs

Can I lay-by other products? Only if it's together in the same order with a custom or pre-built PC.
Can I extend the payment term if I run out of time? On a case-by-case basis and only if you contact us prior to the expiry date.
Can I add or swap items in my lay-by order? Adding items are generally not a problem, swapping them will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Can I pay off my order early and get the order sooner? Yes! Your order will be released as soon as final payment clears.
Can I pay deposits by credit card or PayPal? No. PayPal & card issuers chargeback policies mean we cannot accept partial order payments by these methods.
